Are my scanned documents ever uploaded to any server?

Never. Papeza is an offline-first application. All document recognition, border detection, page cropping, and PDF compilation take place directly on your phone's processor. Papeza maintains zero processing servers, zero cloud databases, and zero sync backends for document data.

Do I need to register or create an account?

No. There is no sign-in screen, no email verification, and no password to remember. When you install Papeza, you are immediately ready to capture your first document.

How does the 'Magic' filter improve scans?

The Magic filter uses an on-device adaptive equalization filter. It analyzes the lighting across your page, removes phone shadows, eliminates paper creases and yellowing, and sharpens ink contrast to make your scan look like it was digitized on a flatbed office scanner.

What are the three quality presets?

Compact (~800 KB): Highly optimized for fast sending over email, WhatsApp, or low-bandwidth connections.
Balanced (~2.2 MB): The sweet spot for regular everyday storage and viewing.
