Documents and local processing
Papeza lets you scan documents, import supported files, create PDFs and manage a local document library. The app stores its working files and saved documents in app storage on your device. Document content is processed on your device and is not uploaded to a server for processing or cloud storage. You choose whether to share or export a document.
Files you choose and sharing
Papeza uses files you select through the device's file picker and documents you capture through its scanning flow. When you choose to share or export a document, the destination app or service receives the file and handles it under its own terms and privacy policy. Papeza does not control those destinations.
Third-party components and technical data
Papeza performs no network transmission of your document content or personal data. The app has no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or account/cloud-sync components.
- Android: document scanning uses Google's ML Kit document scanner (
play-services-mlkit-document-scanner) and on-device text recognition (mlkit text-recognition). The recognition model is bundled with the app and runs on-device; no document content is sent to Google or any server for recognition. The scanner's capture screen is a Google Play Services component, so Google Play Services on your device may need to be available or fetch its own component update on first use — that step is controlled by Google Play Services, not by Papeza, and does not involve your document content. - iOS: document scanning and text recognition use Apple's native VisionKit and Vision frameworks entirely on-device. Only recognized text and its position cross into the app — no document content leaves your device.
- Papeza's own code includes no analytics library. Nothing is collected, transmitted or shared by Papeza itself.
Retention and deletion
Your scanned pages and saved PDFs are stored in the app's local storage on your device until you delete them from your document library. Deleting a document from Papeza removes it and its associated working files from the app's storage. Clearing app storage or uninstalling Papeza removes all of its locally stored app data. Files you have previously exported or shared are separate copies held by their destination app or service and are not affected by deleting the document inside Papeza — delete those separately if needed. Export important documents before removing the app.
Accounts and support
Papeza does not require an account to use. If you contact support by email, we receive the email address and message content you send us. We use this only to respond to your inquiry and do not use it for any other purpose. We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterward for our own records, and delete it on request where we are able to.
Children and regional rights
Papeza is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because Papeza does not collect or transmit document content or personal data off your device, there is generally no stored personal data for us to access, correct or delete on our servers — your documents live under your own control on your device. If you believe you have a privacy request related to your use of Papeza (for example, about support correspondence you sent us), contact us at support@caffeinatedglobal.com and we will respond.
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app or our practices. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, note the change on this page. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
